Bridgewater’s comeback ended in defeat to Hampden-Sydney

BRIDGEWATER, Va. (WHSV) – After being down 17-0 in the second quarter, Bridgewater suffered a setback in its comeback Saturday afternoon, losing 28-21 to Hampden-Sydney. The Tigers opened the scoring with Manning Lasso’s 20-yard touchdown run with less than eight minutes left in the fourth quarter.

It took the Eagles until the final minute of the first half to find the end zone as Jayser Bateman connected with Kyle Beck for a 3-yard score to make it 17-7 at halftime. Bateman scored two more touchdowns in the second half, but Lasso’s second touchdown closed the door, handing Bridgewater its second straight loss of the season.

Now 5-3 overall and 3-2 in conference, Bridgewater aims to get back in the win column on Saturday, November 9th when it welcomes Washington and Lee. Start is scheduled for 14:00
