Fans are asking Twix to bring back a fan-favorite ’90s scent

Fans are asking Twix to bring back a fan-favorite ’90s scent

Everything old is new again, and just like clear sandals and the Backstreet Boys’ career, the ’90s are back in full force.

So much so that when Twix asked fans which discontinued or teased candy bar they should bring back, the resounding consensus came from the 1990s.

On October 29, the company posted an image of a cemetery with three gravestones, each bearing the name of a Twix bar, which is currently out of stores. The Instagram post also included an image of the wrapper for the visually inclined, with the caption: “You can only resurrect one, which one?”

One of the options was a triple chocolate bar, another was a sugar cookie, and fans asked in the comments for a creamy peanut butter Twix.

“Peanut butter Peanut butter Peanut butter!!!!!!!!!” exclaimed one commentator. Many others shared the sentiment, writing: “Peanuts. OIL. Stop playing with my emotions!” and “PEANUT BUTTER, PLEASE, PLEASE.”

Another wrote: “Peanut butter with a chocolate chip cookie inside and it’s not close at all,” following his own comment by addressing Twix directly: “You found your people and your market, don’t screw it up.”

Some commenters weren’t on board the peanut butter train, but instead focused on the elusive sugar cookie flavor. According to popular food blogger Snackolator, it was announced just in time for the 2012 holiday season, but never made it to store shelves.

“OMG Twix finally acknowledged Sugar Cookie Twix,” one fan wrote, while another chimed in, saying, “Sugar Cookie was never released so don’t even tease us like that until it comes out.”
