PRINCETON, NJ – The Clemson Tigers rowing program will once again head to the Northeast to compete in the Princeton Chase on Sunday, November 3, starting at 9 a.m. Last headlining the Charles Regatta, Clemson finished in the top 10 of the 42-boat field in the Club 8+ race, posting its fastest time in Boston since 2008.

The Tigers will bring a total of eight boats, three of which will compete in the Women’s Open 8+ event, which will begin at approximately 10 a.m., and the remaining five will compete in the Women’s Open 4+ event, with an approximate start time of 1:20 p.m. The results of the regatta will be available later. to be found Here.

“We are looking forward to the Princeton Chase,” head rowing coach Adrienne Martelli said. “We have a huge number of teams: 61 applications in the 8+ category and 43 in the 4+ category. As always, racing is an opportunity to put into practice what we are working on, push the limits of fitness and compete against other teams.”

The 2024 Princeton Chase is the second fall regatta under the Martelly administration. Accompanying her in New Jersey are assistant coaches Zoe Adamson and Alana Holt and director of operations Sheila Rinozzi in their first regattas with the Tigers.

Adamson joins the Tiger rowing program after a two-year stint at Old Dominion as an assistant coach. During her time with the Monarchs, Adamson led the program to a fifth-place finish in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) championship, turned freshman Nicole Knight into AAC Rookie of the Year and second-team All-AAC honors, and had six collegiate honors. Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) scholarship athletes under her tutelage. Holt joins Clemson’s rowing coaching staff after a stint in Pittsburgh with Duquesne as an assistant coach. During her time with the Dukes, Holt coached the 1V8 in the fall, helping the boat take first place at the Head of Ohio. The Folsom native also produced 14 CRCA scholarship-athletes and a pair of At-Large County Collegiate Sports Society (CSC) members. Rinozzi enters his first season with the Orange and Regalia after three seasons in the same role with the Ohio State Buckeyes. In 2022 and 2023, respectively, she oversaw the Buckeyes’ first and second place finishes at the Big 10 Championships, eighth and 12th place finishes at the NCAA Division I Rowing Championships, and the 2022 Varsity 4 boat, which earned a silver medal at the national level .
