Bear Management Patch for 2024 Available Now | News, Sports, Vacancies

The 2024 patch for Bear Management Cooperator is now available.

The Michigan Bear Hunters Association, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, coordinates the bear patch program in Michigan.

You don’t have to catch a bear to buy a patch.

Adult hunters, patch collectors and others can purchase the patch for $7. Youth hunters ages 10 to 17 with a valid bear hunting license can receive a free patch. Proceeds from the sale of the patches are used for black bear education and outreach.

Patches can be ordered online or by sending name, full address and check or money order payable to the Michigan Bear Hunters Association. If the patch is for a youth bear hunter, please submit a legible copy of a valid bear hunting license. Orders for patches by mail should be sent to: MBHA – Bear Patch Program, 10510 Fairgrieve Road, Johannesburg, MI 49751.

Young artists can enter the 2025 Patch Design Competition. Students in kindergarten through 12th grade who attend a public, private, or home school in Michigan are eligible. To learn more about the patch design competition, visit the Bear Management Cooperator patches webpage. The deadline for submitting applications for participation in the competition is December 31.
