Kalispell Dentist’s Annual Operation Candy Buy Back to Help Support the Troops

KALISPELL — Now that Halloween is over and trick-or-treaters have their catches, candy is in abundance.

A dentist in Kalispell has a solution for families looking to get rid of their extra candy.

Big Sky Children’s Dentistry in Kalispell is holding its annual candy buy. The dentist buys extra candy from children for $2 a pound, up to five pounds per child.

Not only does it help children avoid tooth decay, but it also sends candy to troops overseas through the Treat for Troops program.

Big Sky Children’s Dentistry has been collecting candy from kids for over five years now, and every year they collect more, and with just two days of candy collection, the team has a big task to do it all.

“Luckily I have a great team here to help too, because there end up being a lot of them. I mean last year I think we had somewhere around 400 pounds of candy, so that’s a lot of candy,” said Gabe Dawson, a dentist at Big Sky Pediatric Dentistry. “I’m just happy to help and I think it’s very helpful. great organization and great cause. So it’s fun, the kids love it, they get some money and they get to keep some candy. It’s a blast for everyone.”

The candy buyout started Friday, but kids still have one more day to earn some money to donate to the troops. Candy can be dropped off on Saturday, November 4th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Big Sky Pediatric Dentistry.

Big Sky Pediatric Dentistry is located at 795 Sunset Boulevard, Suite C, in Kalispell.
