Social media critic Martins Otse, also known as Veridarkman, has been released on bail of N2 million with two sureties of the same amount after he was charged with impersonation.

The court also ordered Veridarkman to hand over his passports and other identification documents.

It comes after police criticized his unauthorized use of the uniform and launched an investigation.

Deji Adeyanju provided an update on the arraignment in a brief post by X, saying his client was arraigned in court but was released on strict bail.

“VDM was arraigned and released on very strict bail,” he said.

VDM Ogaga Okokowa’s best friend, also known as Kokopi, shared videos online to celebrate the activist’s freedom.

He wrote:

“Vdm was released after fulfilling his bail conditions.”

VDM accepted the police invitation

The social media critic has finally responded to the police invitation he received a few days ago. In a video posted on Instagram, the Nigerian police criticized the social media star for using her official uniform without permission.

As part of the new development, VDM shared a video of himself wearing a matching colored suit. He said he was on his way to the Federal Capital Territory police station to honor the invitation.
