Treatment of seizures in dogs and cats

Treatment of seizures in dogs and cats

Gamiya Tracy, DVM, DACVIM (neurology), a practicing physician at the Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center in Allentown, recently presented several continuing education sessions on neuroscience topics at the 2024 Fetch dvm360 conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In an interview with dvm360 At the conference, Tracy discussed a lecture he had given on the treatment of seizures in dogs and cats. This talk was also recorded for Fetch On-Demand for the Atlantic City conference and will be available online in the near future.

Gemia Tracy, DVM, DACVIM (neurology): “When Things Go Bad: Managing Seizures in Dogs and Cats” is a conversation about what to look for in pets who have seizures (and) how to treat them. What treatment options do we have? What do we expect from treatment? How can we as veterinarians best help pet owners treat their dogs and cats with seizures, and what questions should we ask, how should we guide them, and how can we best give them the best quality of life?
