New AMMA Executive Committee coming soon: Suresh Gopi

Union minister and actor Suresh Gopi said that a new executive committee of the Association of Malayalam Film Artists (AMMA) will be formed immediately. Suresh Gopi, who was in Kochi to attend the Kerala Piravi celebrations organized by AMMA, said he contacted former AMMA president Mohanlal from the association’s Kochi office. This is AMMA’s first public event since the dissolution of the executive committee on August 27.
Currently, a special commission is working on temporary arrangements for AMMA. AMMA’s executive committee was dissolved after several allegations of sexual assault were made against its prominent members, including former general secretary Siddique. The Hema Commission report, released in August, shed light on rampant sexual violence in the Malayalam film industry. Following this, several women came forward and openly shared stories of sexual abuse they faced at the hands of renowned artists and directors of Malayalam cinema.
