“Just glad it’s over. Just glad it’s over with,” said Thinesville voter Robert Langhoff. “This election was a little difficult. The top right-wing issues that most Americans adhere to are the economy, immigration, and abortion. And all three of them greatly influenced my decision today.”

Former President Donald Trump in Green Bay and Vice President Kamala Harris in Madison on Oct. 30.

You might feel this pressure if you lived in a divided village, in a divided state, in a divided nation.

“I felt a little indecisive, like I kept leaning in one direction and then there was either an angel or a devil on my shoulder saying, have you thought about this direction? I knew I had to make a decision,” Langhoff said. “What are the most pressing issues that have had the most immediate impact on my life?”

In Thiensville in 2020, former President Donald Trump led President Joe Biden by just 45 votes. Two of those votes for Biden were James and Anna Khan.

“I like to play with winners, OK,” James Hahn said. “And I like to act the way I feel: Who has the best attitude and who will help me the best? Do I regret voting for Biden? Yes, I’m sorry.”

They say they voted for the winners of the White House and Wisconsin: Barack Obama twice, Trump and Biden.

“I kind of vote for whoever I think best fits what I want,” Anna Hahn said. “It’s not just one party.”

This year? They are returning.

“In my opinion, Trumpster’s attitude has really changed, especially since he was shot and assassinated,” James Hahn said. “This dude’s character just shines. I’m proud of him.”

GOP support has fallen in Ozaukee County. In both 2020 and 2016, 64% voted for Republican Mitt Romney, but about 55% voted for Trump.

“This area is getting a little more purple, which is really cool because I know we’ve been pretty red in the past,” said Molly Villa, who is voting for Vice President Kamala Harris. “It was nice to see the changes.”

The latest Marquette Law School poll found that 52% of those who voted early personally support Trump, 56% of those voting on Election Day support him, and 70% of those voting by mail support Harris.

“I think it’s interesting because for a long time women didn’t have rights to a lot of things. We fought very hard to get these rights and keep them,” Villa said. “So I think it would be great to see it if there was a woman in office because it just shows how far we’ve come and we can go even further.”

Early voting ends this weekend. Many locations will stop shipping on Friday, November 1st. However, some places, such as Milwaukee, will continue to deliver until Sunday, so it’s best to check with your local clerk.
