Taron Egerton wows fans with first trailer for new Netflix thriller

Tomorrow may be Halloween, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to think about Christmas—and Netflix is clearly looking ahead to the next big holiday season. The company recently released the first trailer of the upcoming holiday movie and it looks very interesting.

Continue It starts with Taron Egerton as an unsuspecting TSA worker whose vacation plans are brutally derailed when he becomes a pawn in the game of a depraved criminal (Jason Bateman, playing against type). When he is ordered to let a suspicious case through the security line, he has a big choice to make.

It’s pretty clear that Taron’s character will go against his instructions and set off a chain of events that should involve plenty of thrills and action, with at least one car chase and plenty of hand-to-hand combat apparently on the order of the day. It looks like a great time, and since it’s scheduled for December 13th, it could be the perfect option for those looking for a movie night option over the holidays.

Egerton also received flowers in the YouTube comments section below the trailer, demonstrating his popularity. One user wrote: “So glad to see Taron again!” Another enthused: “Can’t wait for this, Taron is one of the greatest and most underrated actors of this generation, he should do better.”

That’s high praise, but I’ve also really enjoyed his performances in many films, so I’m far from disputing that statement. Reports are now circulating that Kingsman series is on hiatus until further notice, it’s good to see him starring in another movie. Meanwhile, Bateman’s role as a pure villain has been a long time coming, and this should be a great opportunity to see him expand his range.

However, there is little time left before Continue will actually debut, giving you plenty of time to catch up with the rest of your undoubtedly massive Netflix backlog before it comes out. After all, one of the platform’s biggest advantages in the race for the title of best streaming service is that it simply has a sheer volume of movies and shows to turn to, even before new originals like this one arrive.
