Apple authorized resellers in Vietnam have reduced the price of the iPhone 16 by 4-6% four weeks after its launch.

The 128GB version is now selling for 22 million VND, up from 23 million VND on September 27 when this year’s models were released.

The cost of the 512 GB version decreased by 6% to less than 30 million VND.

But the rest of the lineup, which includes Plus, Pro and Pro Max, remains unchanged in price, with the latter two being favorites in Vietnam.

Reseller data shows that these two companies account for 70-90% of sales.

Thus, the discount on iPhone 16 is intended to boost demand for it, said Nguyen Lac Hai, media spokesman for Apple authorized reseller CellphoneS.

Last year, prices for the standard version of the iPhone 15 were cut four weeks after launch, and its sales rose 25%, he added.

In the Di Dong Viet retail chain, after the announcement of discounts, there has been a slight increase in demand for the iPhone 16. It now accounts for 14% of sales, and the Pro Max remains the largest seller with a 70% share.

Globally, Apple has reportedly asked its suppliers to cut production of the iPhone 16 by 13 million units, predominantly the Standard and Plus variants, amid low demand for them.
