Jimmy Butler doesn’t believe the Miami Heat are in full swing

Jimmy Butler looks to the future after the Miami Heat’s 106-98 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night.

He knows the Heat will play even better next time.

He said the Heat aren’t quite there yet, but they’re working hard at it.

“We’re not there yet, but I think we’re in better shape than a lot of guys in the league,” Butler said. “We’ve always been proud of it. We rise and fall. We achieve this in training. We make sure we share the ball and play the way we want to play.”

Butler also stated that he plans to continue acting like a bully. He’s looking forward to playing again Wednesday night when the New York Knicks come to Kasey Center.

“I’m not going to give up my game because of how people want our organization to play,” Butler said. “I need to attack. I need to find my guys.

“I have to defend on the defensive side of the ball.”

By protecting the ball on defense, the Heat began to steal the ball more often.

“I love it, you have to take a chance,” Butler said. “We’re going to get four balls out of six. Spo (Heat coach Erik Spoelstra) can’t get too mad on four of six goals. I want all the gambling, all the gambling in the world. That’s what I do, and that’s what I want everyone else to follow.”

Against the Pistons, Butler had four steals, while Bam Adebayo and Jaime Jaquez Jr. had three each. The Heat also committed 16 turnovers.
