INSIDE 18: New York Red Bulls begin playoff series with Best-of-3 opener against Columbus Crew

The New York Red Bulls begin their 15th straight playoff run with Game 1 of their Best-of-3 series against the Columbus Crew in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs.

New York will visit Lower.com Field to take on the defending MLS Cup champions on Tuesday, with the match kicking off at 6:45 pm ET.

New York captain Emil Forsberg will make his first MLS postseason appearance along with Felipe Carballo, Cameron Harper and Daniel Edelman. Carballo will also make his playoff debut.

Forsberg recorded his second career multi-goal game in MLS in the final match of the season in New York against the Columbus Crew. He has now scored in three straight games, including five goals, three goals and two assists.

Lewis Morgan and Dante Vanzeir propel the RBNY attack.

Morgan scored 20 goals in the regular season, the most by a Red Bulls player since 2018.

Dylan Nealis returns to the starting lineup, while Sean Nealis, Andres Reyes and John Tolkin have been given the go-ahead to start.

Carlos Coronel is in goal for the Red Bulls.

Head coach Sandro Schwartz, in his first playoff game of his rookie season, will have Corey Burke, Vicky Carmona, Ronald Donkor, Noah Eile, Dennis Gyengaar, Julian Hall, Elias Manoel and Peter Stroud on the bench. Ryan Meara will be the backup goalie.

Serge Ngoma, Kyle Duncan and Roald Mitchell will miss the match.

Kickoff is set for 6:45 pm ET with MLS Season Pass streaming on Apple TV in English, Spanish, FS1, TSN, RDS and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

Steve Cangialosi will be in charge of play-by-play and will work alongside Danny Higginbotham for the English team, while Alejandro Figueredo will be in charge of play-by-play and will be alongside Eduardo Vizcayalar for the Spanish team. New York Red Bulls Radio will begin at 6:30 pm ET with “Countdown to Kickoff” presented by Toyota, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolly.
