WESTCHESTER COUNTY – A triple shooting in Westchester County left one person dead and two others hospitalized as New York State Police took a suspect into custody Tuesday morning.

Shooting in Somers, New York

Police were called just after 11:30 pm Monday to a complex on Route 6 in Somers, New York.

A triple shooting in Somers, New York left one person dead and two others hospitalized, state police said.

According to police, one person died, two more were in hospitals.

Who is Fernando Jimenez?

The suspect sought by state police, identified as 40-year-old Fernando Jimenez, was taken into custody without incident.

Police said Jimenez knew the victims.

Putnam Valley Schools

Meanwhile, all Putnam Valley schools have been ordered closed today, the district said.

All Putnam Valley schools were ordered to close Tuesday, the district said.

“We are in contact with the New York State Police, who continue to have active policing throughout the Putnam Valley. Some residents remain undercover. After speaking with law enforcement, the decision has been made to close all Putnam Valley schools today.”
