Alex Sarr makes history for the Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards are very excited about the future of rookie and No. 2 overall pick Alex Sarr. While they know he will need time to develop, he is already making a major impact on the defensive end of the floor.

At 7’0″ and 205 pounds, Sarr has excellent size, length and athleticism. This will help him become a very dangerous defender at the NBA level.

However, he is only 19 years old and you need to be patient with him.

Having started his NBA career with the Wizards, Sarr has already made franchise history. According to Monumental Sports Network’s Chase Hughes, Sarr began his career with a franchise-record three straight games with more than two blocked shots.

Needless to say, this is a very positive sign for Washington. Sarr may not be a polished offensive player yet, but his defense is already extremely effective.

After two losses to start the season, the Wizards were able to beat the Atlanta Hawks last night, 121-119, to improve to 1-2. The team hopes that this season they can be much more competitive than last year.

For the team to be more competitive and continue to take steps to rebuild, Sarr will have to continue to develop.

While the team hopes to compete this year, they know the 2024-25 NBA season is more about developing players and determining their direction. So far there have been very positive signs that their development is going well.

Bub Carrington, another first-round draft pick, also had a big game last night. He scored 13 points off the bench and played a very important role.

Let’s hope Washington continues to see Sarr and Carrington, along with the rest of the team, get better and better in the coming weeks. As for Sarr, he is making a big impact in defense and now he just needs to continue to develop in attack.
