Fan Vote: Who is the current Most Valuable Player in Greater Lansing High School Football?

The regular season is now underway, and the playoffs are about to begin.

And Greater Lansing had several players who put up big numbers, contributing to their team’s success.

Which standout player made the biggest impression during the regular season? You can weigh in by voting for the regular season MVP in Greater Lansing. Below are 12 Greater Lansing players who put up big numbers, based on statistics provided by local teams throughout the season.

Voting is open until 18:00 Thursday.

Corey Amakri, Haslett

Before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 8, the Division I prospect had 153 carries for 1,102 yards and 18 touchdowns and helped the Vikings finish second in the CAAC Red.

Cason Carswell, Mason

The senior running back and Western Illinois commit completed 121 of 185 passes for 1,417 yards and 21 touchdowns and ran for 222 yards and four touchdowns while leading the Bulldogs to their sixth straight CAAC Red title and a 7-2 regular season.

Jaden Colby, Leslie

Colby was one of the top receivers in the region and was instrumental in Leslie winning the Cascades Conference title and going 8-1 in the regular season. Through eight games, he had 909 receiving yards, eight touchdowns, 364 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Colby also had three interceptions.

Jackson Conn, Ithaca

The senior quarterback completed 90 of 153 passes for 1,520 yards and 23 touchdowns, rushed for 681 yards and scored 16 scores while leading the Yellowjets to a championship and a 9-0 regular season record.

Joel Cranmore, Leslie

The sophomore guard led the team in passing and helped the Blackhawks go 8-1 in the regular season and win the Cascades Conference title. Through eight games, Cranmore has thrown for 1,854 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Jace Clarizio, East Lansing

The senior running back and Michigan State commit helped the Trojans finish second in the CAAC Blue. Through eight games, he had 128 carries for 982 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Kayden Dickerson, Portland

Dickerson was the primary ball handler for CAAC White champion Portland and helped lead the Raiders to their second straight perfect regular season. Through eight games, Dickerson rushed for 979 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Alex Fernandez, Catholic from Lansing

The senior helped the Cougars to a 6-3 regular season and was one of their best offensive players and defenders. In eight games, he threw for 1,593 yards and 16 touchdowns, rushed for 458 yards and scored nine scores. Fernandez is also Lansing Catholic’s second-leading tackler.

Abram Larner, DeWitt

The Grand Valley State commit and senior wide receiver had 33 receptions for 948 yards and 17 touchdowns, rushing for 396 yards and five interceptions for CAAC Blue champion DeWitt, which is 9-0.

Elliot Larner, DeWitt

The Michigan Tech quarterback completed 79 of 113 passes for 1,604 yards and 26 touchdowns and ran for 1,340 yards and 19 touchdowns while leading the Panthers to the CAAC Blue title and a 9-0 regular season.

Brady Leonard, Portland St. Patrick’s

Leonard was one of the area’s top 8-man playmakers, having 87 carries for 1,123 yards and 22 touchdowns and throwing for 831 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Shamrocks, who went 8-1 and finished in a three-way tie. at the top of MSAC. Red.

Brighton Thelen, Pewamo-Westphalia

Thelen finished his regular season with 300 yards rushing in a narrow loss to Lansing Catholic. He entered Week 9 having rushed for 987 yards and 15 touchdowns.
