In a recent episode, special guests Boman Irani and Farah Khan appeared and during their conversation: Big B fondly remembered the late Ratan Tata.
In a conversation with Boman Irani, Amitabh Bachchan fondly recalled late industrialist Ratan Tatadescribing him as a remarkably humble man. “Kya aadmi sir, main bata nahi shakta,” he expressed, meaning: “What kind of person he was, I cannot even say.” Amitabh then shared two memorable stories that highlighted Tata’s humility.

Big B revealed that he and Ratan Tata once found themselves on the same flight to London, saying, “There was a time when we both were on the same plane to London. We finally landed at Heathrow Airport.”
The actor further shared, “It seemed like the people who were supposed to pick him up either couldn’t be found or had already left. So he went to the phone booth to make a call and I waited nearby. After some time he returned and to my surprise said, “Amitabh, can I borrow some money?” I don’t have change to call!”

The megastar narrated yet another incident involving mutual friends at an event. When it was over, Mr. Tata approached one of his friends and asked, “Can you take me home? I live behind your house. In amazement, the elder Bachchan remarked, “Can you believe it, Ratan Tata is without a car!”
For those who don’t know, Ratan Tata passed away on October 10, 2024 in Mumbai. Big B expressed his grief on social media by sharing a photo of him and writing, “An era has just passed… his humility, his great determination, his vision and his determination to do the best for the nation, which has always been a source of pride.” …It has been my greatest honor and privilege to have the opportunity and privilege to work together on common humanitarian causes.. A very sad day…my prayers.”
