US will be responsible for Israeli attack on Iran – UN Ambassador – World

DUBAI, October 29. /TASS/. The United States is involved in Israel’s attack on Iran and will bear responsibility for it, said the permanent representative of the Islamic Republic to the UN, Emir Said Iravani.

“The United States’ participation in Israeli aggression by providing Israel with technical knowledge and advanced military systems has further provoked and emboldened Israel to launch aggressive attacks against Iran. Thus, the US government is an “accomplice” to Israeli aggression and will bear its consequences,” IRNA quotes the diplomat as saying.

Iravani emphasized that “The United States has already been complicit in the ongoing war crimes and campaign of genocide targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in both the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. The vast majority of the bombs that Israel drops on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon are made by the United States.”

“Despite Israel’s egregious violations, today we are once again witnessing blatant double standards demonstrated by some members of the Security Council, including the United States. These states have failed to condemn Israel’s illegal actions, which directly violate the UN Charter and international law. Instead, they justify Israeli violations and atrocities by calling them “self-defense,” Iravani added.

On October 26, the Israel Defense Forces said it had carried out strikes on military targets inside Iran in response to “numerous continuous attacks.” The country’s air defense force said in a statement that damage was limited and air defense systems successfully repelled the main attack.

The Iranian General Staff said the attack was launched from Iraqi airspace over territory controlled by US forces. The Israeli strikes killed at least four Iranian soldiers and one civilian.

On October 1, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite branch of Iran’s armed forces) launched a massive ballistic and hypersonic missile attack on Israel in retaliation for the deaths of senior leaders of Hamas, Hezbollah and the IRGC. Tehran said 90% of the missiles successfully hit their intended targets. Israel, in turn, said Iran fired about 180 missiles at the country, most of which were intercepted.

Israel’s Chief of General Staff vowed to “choose the right time” to surprise Iran with an attack.
