NASA astronaut Sunita Williams shares Diwali wishes from space | N18G

NASA astronaut Sunita Williams sent Diwali greetings from the International Space Station, marking the festival 260 miles above Earth. In her message, Williams, who spent nearly five months on the ISS, spoke about her Hindu heritage and her father’s efforts to instill cultural traditions. Expressing gratitude for President Biden and Vice President Harris’ participation in Diwali celebrations, she emphasized the festival’s themes of hope and goodness. This unique greeting coincided with Diwali at the White House. Williams, who has been aboard the ISS since June with astronaut Butch Wilmore, will continue her missionary work until their return in February 2024.
