“It’s vital that fleets looking to reduce their carbon emissions have access to vehicles that allow them to continue doing their jobs without having to compromise,” says Miles Hartley, general manager, electric vehicles, Ford Australia.

“Both the Ranger PHEV and E-Transit Custom have all the capabilities that make their nameplates legendary around the world, with the added benefit of an electrified powertrain.”

The PHEV powertrain will be offered in Wildtrak, Sport and XLT variants, and there will also be a new launch version of the Stormtrak. Stormtrak comes standard with the Flexible Rack System, Matrix LED headlights, Pro Trailer Assist, 360-degree camera, 18-inch alloy wheels, honeycomb grille, fender vents, styling decal package and cabin premium with B&O inscription. sound system.

The PHEV powertrain combines a 2.3-litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine, a 75kW electric motor and an 11.8kWh battery. Ford claims the PHEV can travel more than 25 miles on electric power alone. The Modular Hybrid Transmission (MHT) integrates an electronic motor and a decoupling clutch between the engine and 10-speed transmission, allowing the electrical and combustion engine systems to work together or operate independently.

Both electrified vehicles will also be presented at the upcoming exhibition. The Sydney International Electric Vehicle Show runs from November 8 to 10, and both will go on sale in Australia in 2025.
