Somerset cope with Leslie County in county play

SOMERSET, Ky. (WIMT) – The Leslie County Eagles traveled to Hal Roger to take on District 6 rival Somerset.

Somerset hit the ground running with Chris Hughes starting the first kick deep into Eagle territory.

Hughes would finish the attack, take the ball and break through the defense to score the first points.

This would be the start of Hughes’ game. Later, having driven down the field, Somerset fed Hughes the ball again and he burst through another defender to score his second goal of the game.

Leslie County won’t be quiet when the defense is passing and Jayden Hacker will be in the right place at the right time to intercept the ball.

Somerset would win 55-13 to claim its second straight District 6 championship.

Leslie County will look to bounce back against Pineville next Friday.

Somerset will be looking to hold on to their win next week in Glasgow.
