Swiggy Instamart launches ‘Download shopping list’ feature

Swiggy Instamart has started piloting the Shopping List feature. The announcement comes after a viral post by user GabbarSingh, which highlighted the traditional practice among Indian shoppers of using prepared lists for store owners. In response, Phani Kishan, co-founder of Swiggy, announced a new feature in Swiggy Instamart that allows users to easily scan, write or speak their entire shopping list, automatically creating their cart for a hassle-free shopping experience.

Users will be able to create their shopping cart using their shopping list using three options: Say It, Scan and Write.

With the “Say It” feature, users can simply speak their lists, for example by saying, “Apple, Mango and Banana,” and the system will automatically create a searchable list that can be added to cart in one go.

Additionally, users can type or paste their lists from sources such as WhatsApp or Notes, allowing for quick searches and additions.

The Scan option allows users to scan handwritten or typed notes, after which Swiggy will create a list for easy searching and adding to cart. Additionally, by invoking Siri with the command “Hey Siri, Create my Swiggy Instamart List”, users can verbally add items and Siri will suggest them the desired items before compiling the list for seamless cart integration.
