Property crime charges, South Brisbane and Gold Coast

Police have charged two men with 14 petrol station break-ins that occurred in south Brisbane and the Gold Coast between August 30 and October 3.

Bayside Police have launched an investigation into a series of related incidents, allegedly involving criminals who carefully concealed their identities, breaking into several petrol stations in Ormiston, Rochdale, Browns Plains, Upper Coomera, Capalaba, Wishart, Eight Mile Plains, Underwood, Coopers- Plains, Sunnybank, Runcorn. and Coomera.

It is further assumed that the criminals attacked cigarettes.

Police say they took two men into custody in response to an active break-in at a Miami gas station on Oct. 14.

Subsequent inquiries led to a 29-year-old Beenley man being charged with 14 counts of entering premises, committing and breaching a requirement, one count each of receiving tainted property, theft, attempting to enter premises, possession of dangerous drugs and unlawful use motor vehicle.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear again at Southport Magistrates’ Court on October 29.

A 19-year-old Holmview man is also charged with 14 counts of entering premises, committing and breaching a requirement, two counts of attempting to enter premises, one count each of receiving tainted property, theft and unlawful use of a vehicle.

He is expected to appear again at Southport Magistrates’ Court on November 12.
