Her message that Indigenous Australians never ceded sovereignty to the Crown was lost in the shouting. Outspoken supporters of the Indigenous Voice in Parliament initiative that Thorpe opposed, leading to her departure from the Greens, were not impressed. And even the King and Prime Minister seemed unperturbed, chatting and chuckling amiably immediately after the incident, as if a drunken lady had just been taken out of the room to drink some Bex and have a good lie down.
