Minecraft needs Redstone quests to give us a cool new challenge

Redstone has received some changes in recent updates (and snapshots), and this only means that Mojang is currently focused on improving it. While they’re at it, it would be great if a new structure was added to Minecraft that focused on using Redstone. So in this post I’ll share one of my favorite new ideas for what the new Minecraft structure should be, and that’s the Redstone Escape Room.

Minecraft has too many mob-oriented structures

Most Minecraft structures are mob-centric, be it mobs that provide special loot or mobs that guard loot. However, some structures have a different purpose as they aim to provide players with a block-based challenge. We can see this in the example desert pyramid where the TNT trap poses the greatest threat and temple in the jungle including Indiana Jones style traps and a lever puzzle at the end.

These two structures are also fairly easy to navigate and complete, but do they provide a unique experience? The Ruins of the Trail is another game building that has no mobs at all, but no real tasks other than cleaning up suspicious gravel.

Redstone is one of the main and prominent mechanics in Minecraft, so I think it deserves a special structure everything is yours.

And I’m not talking about the ancient city, which has several redstone tutorials underneath the main portal-like structure. I’m thinking of a decent sized structure that aims to challenge the player in the Redstone mechanics by offering puzzles and riddles that will test your knowledge, like a Redstone escape room.

Proposals for the structure of the Redstone quest room

Just imagine the structure of an escape room in Minecraft that forces you to pull levers, press buttons, solve riddles and puzzles, insert a specific item into a dropper, and much more. Wouldn’t that be so cool? This structure can possibly sometimes be part of abandoned mines, so they are not tied to a specific biome.

Additionally, these escape rooms may consist of various rooms separated by doors requiring key subjectwhich you will receive by completing a task in the room or perhaps in a random hidden chest or barrel. Perhaps some of these numbers could even include challenge the mafia to find a waywhere you force a mob to enter a certain area by luring it.

There may be different similar ideas that can be implemented in an escape room, and with a random generation pattern, each of them can be a little different and create different challenges. For example, what if another there is a ticking TNT bomb in the room with Redstone watch What can you disable only by quickly completing the task?

Some rooms may also encourage you to use certain Minecraft mechanics, such as Skyblock Map forces you to use a cobblestone generator. Perhaps by visiting this structure you will be able to learn how a number of blocks work, such as an anvil, a chiseled bookshelf, a magnet and others.

On the other hand, perhaps not everything should be based on Redstone. Perhaps in some rooms you should use your parkour skills go through or maybe go through some kind of labyrinth where dispensers emit lavaso you’ll have to hurry.

The loot you can find in a Minecraft escape room will range from something simple like food and basic resources to higher level items like Red stone components, diamondsand a cool redstone armor finish that will make the trip even more worthwhile.

I understand that the Mojang developers likely want players to come up with these ideas themselves with friends on Minecraft servers, but there is nothing wrong with them coming up with and presenting such ideas themselves. Plus, since this is Minecraft we’re talking about, players can simply punch through walls and floors and completely destroy the structure.

In this case, I think you will not be able to place or remove blocks from the escape room. Maybe there could be some rooms that even punish loot blocks explosions or send a horde of Minecraft mobs.

But perhaps the easiest way to get around this is to not allow players to enter the structure unless their inventory is empty, perhaps using some unique inaccessible barrier block. By exploring and completing tasks, they can find food sources to sustain themselves. This may be a long shot for Minecraft, but it would still be a pretty cool idea.

I think this structure can be completed. without having to fightso you can only focus on solving puzzles and collecting loot to prepare for your adventure in the overworld. I think it would also be great if Mojang allowed players to make suggestions for Redstone’s escape room structure so the community could design it together.

However, do you think such a structure could fit into Minecraft? Feel free to leave any ideas about this cool offer in the comments below.
