Gwyneth Paltrow on ‘completely different’ feelings after kids left home for college

Gwyneth Paltrow has spoken candidly about her life after both of her children left for college.

The Goop founder spoke of mixed feelings after her 20-year-old daughter Apple and 18-year-old son Moses left home to attend college.

“This is completely different,” the actress shared in a video posted to her Instagram Story. “I have waves of grief and sadness.”

However, Paltrow said she found a chance to find herself at an older age.

“I’m kind of getting back in touch with a part of myself that I haven’t felt since I was 20 before I had kids,” she shared.

The Marvel star also said that “a little more space” has given her the opportunity to improve her “imagination.”

“A little more interior space for what I might want to do that day and things like that,” she explained. “So it’s evolving. This is interesting”.

The actress said that her children left home earlier this year.

“Your children should be young adults who can succeed, cope, make connections and be resilient,” she said during a March 2024 interview with the publication Sunday Times.

“This is exactly what you want. And that means they are leaving home.”
