Buckingham Palace celebrates King Charles' return to Australia

Buckingham Palace celebrated King Charles III’s major achievement in Australia amid protests from anti-monarchy groups.

The royal family’s social media accounts shared details of the king’s stunning moments as thousands of Australians turned out to greet the monarch amid protests.

The palace shared touching photos of the king and the people of Australia with the caption: “Wow Sydney, what a turnout!”

In response to the post, one wrote: “Sydney has really outdone himself! The incredible turnout to welcome Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla is testament to the vibrant spirit and unity of our city.

“It’s moments like these that demonstrate the warmth and enthusiasm of the Australian people.”

Another added: “Republicans called it a ‘farewell tour’ but it was nothing more. They called on Australians to “say goodbye to the royal family”, but the crowds of support were huge, especially outside the Sydney Opera House.

“The protesters were significantly outnumbered and would have gone completely unnoticed if not for one senator who achieved nothing other than exposing herself. The King and Queen were relaxed and ready to talk to everyone and shake hands. A huge success! I don’t think Australia will become a republic in the near future.”
