EXCLUSIVE: Shocking moment Adelaide A mother was attacked with a screwdriver as her child sat in the back seat of their car and it was caught on video.

The man was seen walking towards a Range Rover in the car park of the Playford Shopping Center in Manno Para, north Adelaide, about 3.30pm yesterday.

The footage shows him reaching through the window, spraying the woman with chemicals and then stabbing her with a screwdriver.

The man, himself a convicted murderer, told 9News he’s “turned over a new leaf.”

Dozens of shoppers nearby said they heard cries for help.

The woman took her oldest child to tutoring across the street, which she does regularly at the same time every day.

Witnesses told 9News they believe the attacker also frequented the area and may have seen the Range Rover before.

“It’s shocking what’s happening, this poor woman,” said local worker Lisa Morrison.

The woman’s car has been forensically examined, but no arrests have yet been made.

Her eyes were burned and she was shocked by the attack.
