Asus ROG Phone 9 will be officially launched next month

The ROG Phone 9 is on its way, which is of course not surprising given the leaks that have occurred over the past few months. With the release of the new flagship chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, Asus decided to make its own announcement regarding the ROG Phone 9.

Earlier today, Asus confirmed that the ROG Phone 9 will be officially launched on November 19th. Additionally, the phone maker also revealed what the phone looks like and what to expect in terms of improvements over previous gaming phones.

As expected, ROG Phone 9 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform, powered by Qualcomm’s innovative 2nd generation Oryon processor and advanced Adreno GPU.

Apparently, Asus is planning to announce the ROG Phone 9 series, offering live demos and exclusive hands-on experience with the phone at the upcoming Snapdragon Summit 2024, which is currently in full swing.

For now, let’s take a quick look at what’s happened online over the past couple of months. According to a reliable Chinese source, who also predicted that the phone will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the ROG Phone 9 will feature an upgraded display.

Unfortunately, they haven’t actually provided any additional information about the nature of these updates. In comparison, the ROG Phone 9 has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, so it looks like there’s room for improvement.

Another interesting information about the ROG Phone 9 is that its battery will support 65W wired charging, which is the same as the ROG Phone 8’s 5,500mAh battery. This likely means that the ROG Phone 9 won’t actually receive any battery-related updates.

It is obvious that Asus will offer multiple versions of the ROG Phone 9 depending on the storage capacity, and perhaps even a Pro version as it has done in the past. Rumor has it that the most powerful (and most expensive) model will have at least 24GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.

ROG Phone 9 will be released globally, although release dates and price will vary by market.
