Child abuse case involving guardian in Bertama adjourned to November 21 as court awaits forensic report

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 — The investigation into a two-year-old boy who was allegedly abused at a kindergarten in Bertama, resulting in a broken right femur, has been rescheduled until November 21.

Sessions Judge Nor Azah Kasran set a new date for the case pending the report of a forensic report on the child’s case. Star reported.

The medical report and other documents were presented during an appearance at the court complex today.

On August 16, the 24-year-old caregiver was charged under Section 31(1)(a) of the Children Act 2001, which carries a maximum penalty of imprisonment of up to 20 years or a fine of up to RM50,000, or both. if convicted.

The guardian allegedly caused injuries to the child by breaking his right hip on August 8 at a children’s center in Taman Pinggiran.

The child’s father, 31, filed a police report after a doctor confirmed the injury was not an accidental fracture.

Earlier, he received a call from the center and was informed that his child had been injured.
