Rolling Stone Report AU/NZ Metallica Heading to Perth in 2025!

Hot on the heels of a government report that Western Australia’s “events boom” brought the state $286 million in the last financial year, Rolling Stone Australia reports that some rock ‘n’ roll legends will be coming here next year.

According to an article published last night by Lars Brundle, Metallica will play a Perth show at Optus Stadium on November 1, 2025, followed by dates on the east coast:

“When Bay Area metal legends head south for their trek down the M72, well-placed sources tell RS that Optus Stadium will host the show on Saturday 1 November.”

If true, it continues a string of major events in our state that have contributed $286 million to the economy, with more than a third of that coming from Coldplay ($43.3 million), WWE: Elimination Chamber ($36.2 million) and matches Women’s World Cup. ($25.3 million).

“We are successfully delivering global events, bringing Western Australia to the world’s attention, attracting thousands of visitors and helping our city reach its full potential, while creating jobs, supporting small businesses and pumping millions of people into our economy. – said Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti.

“We have a lot to offer visitors from all over the world and this events strategy is becoming increasingly clear, giving many thousands of people a reason to come to Western Australia and see all we have to offer.”

Metallica’s Australian tour will be their first visit to the country since they headlined the Soundwave festival in 2013.

Metallica announced it was heading to Australia in a statement last month as part of the M72 World Tour in support of its latest album, but did not give a date or location.
