Surfer Bethany Hamilton’s three-year-old nephew dies after accident

Famous surfer Bethany HamiltonAndrew’s three-year-old nephew died on Friday, succumbing to injuries sustained as a result of drowning.

IN Instagram post Over the weekend, the 34-year-old professional athlete, who lost her arm in a shark attack while surfing at the age of 13, spoke about the tragic loss of her “sweet” nephew.

“The Lord has taken my sweet nephew Andrew into his beautiful care,” Hamilton wrote on Instagram Saturday. “While my family and I will miss him dearly, we believe his joy is filled with Jesus.”

She added: “Here is the prayer of faith that my brother and our entire family prayed last week. This prayer so incredibly describes what it means to have faith. Faith is believing that God’s will for our lives is greater than our own. Thank you everyone for your love, prayers and support during this difficult time. Be blessed.”

Hamilton previously shared in a separate Instagram post that her nephew was rushed to a hospital in Oahu, Hawaii after drowning on Oct. 11, noting that at the time he was still having “palpitations” and “struggle (left) in him.” .

The boy’s father, Timothy Hamilton, also posted a touching obituary for his son on the website. his instagram also reported that “best life-saving measures have been exhausted.”

“It hurts terribly and we miss Andrew more than words can say. But we do not grieve like those who have no hope,” the father wrote. “We rejoice in the sure hope of the glory of God, in whose name Andrew was baptized, whose precious blood washed Andrew and made him a child and heir of heaven.”
