The countdown is on – wellness travel, Adelaide’s favorite wellness event is almost here! Now in its third year, old favorites join exciting new events to suit all tastes and ages, offering over 40 bespoke and curated wellness experiences, specially chosen to fill your cup.
The main theme of this year’s event is centered around the farming experience and food, with more and more people keen to understand the source of their food, want to meet its creator and understand how food can impact your well-being.
All of these themes are featured in our main new event hero in Well Traveller’s Nourish. This wonderful experience will allow you to immerse yourself in a day full of ways to nourish your body and mind. The action takes place in the stunning cultural center of Ukaria. Hear from our keynote speaker, Matthew Evans, renowned chef and food critic turned farm-to-table nutrition activist, now based in Tasmania. Best known for his long-running SBS series The Gourmet Farmer, his 13 published books including the recently released MILK, Matt guides nutrition seekers through the cycle of farming, growing, soil and food.

Then hear from Erica Rushbrook, holistic health coach at local Ngeringa biodynamic farm and vineyard and cellar door manager, followed by a cooking demonstration lifting the spirits of the delightful Malissa Fedele from the recent series of MasterChef, who will demonstrate how almonds are now one of the most popular trees nuts are found throughout the world and are rich in essential nutrients such as protein, fiber, healthy fats and vitamin E, contributing to your overall well-being.

Then enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at the local Kitchen Farm Pantry café. You’ll also be guided through gentle breathing exercises and finish with great tips on skin nutrition and a tour of a working biodynamic farm from top skin artist Jurlik.

Walk away with a bag of goodies containing over $150 worth of beautiful products to feed you at home, and one lucky winner will win a year’s supply of Jurlique products valued at $2,400.

The two-day program of events is filled with a variety of wellness activities, including more well-known events such as; exploring farmland, walking, wildlife, yoga, Pilates, spas and mindfulness, as well as new experiences such as breathwork, mindful painting and sound healing – there’s a wellness experience for everyone, from singles, friends and couples to the whole family , which falls under one or more of the five components of wellness activities; Provenance, Relax & Relax, Nature, Learn & Create and Stay – providing more ways to connect and improve your wellbeing.
Other new immersive farm events joining the program include: Jurlique Handped Masterclass – Visit a biodynamic farm and explore the fields where Jurlique’s natural skin care begins, as well as harvest your own botanical extracts for the first time and learn how to create your own our own aromatherapy blend. take home; or pick your own “first of the season” strawberries with the help of the Strawberry Picking team at Berenberg Farm; or learn the art of fermentation and enjoy a three-course lunch with Fermenting with Matt Rodgers at Mt Lofty Ranges Vineyard. Embark on a one-day Mystery of Mindfulness tour, starting with gentle breathing exercises and taking part in the ancient practice of forest bathing, a therapeutic experience to slow down and absorb the forest, ending with a picnic and time for reflection under the trees.

A change of pace and treat yourself to a Cedars Secret Garden Tea with a walk through the beautiful Artist’s Garden led by curator Allan Campbell, followed by a delightful afternoon tea among the trees. Explore the hidden vibrations of nature at Eurilla Estate with Plant Songs: Outdoor Sound Bath with Sacred Resonance Live for a one-of-a-kind sound healing experience guided by the harmonic frequencies of nature itself. Join Kitchen Farm’s morning wellness session to rejuvenate with a gentle yoga session before creating your own unique tea blend to take home with you. Treat yourself to a Mindful Eating of the Holy Trinity event at Tilbrook Estate. Come together and meet three master artisans from the Adelaide Hills, Tilbrook Estate, Division 28 Cheeses and Enrico Sgarbossa, Northern Italian Pizza Chef and Flour Specialist, for a slow food experience through a carefully tasting and curated experience. Take home with you new knowledge and skills that will allow you to consciously find, combine and enjoy the classic joy of the “Holy Trinity” at your own table with family and friends.
These new events join such crowd favorites as; Get away from the digital world and spend time with your family for a family digital detox at Woodhouse Adventure Park, where you’ll spend a full day of outdoor adventure and screen-free entertainment as you’re encouraged to turn off all mobile devices to encourage family bonding and active holidays . . Discover the harmony of movement, playfulness and relaxation in the newly renovated Blanket Building at Fabrik with Connect + Create with Drawing Yoga, a unique class that gives you the opportunity to relax through movement and artistic expression in a tranquil environment. This workshop combines guided mindfulness to deepen your connection to nature, and will help you use this connection to inspire your botanical artwork.
These events are just part of a carefully curated program that has been prepared for wellness enthusiasts on October 26 and 27 and reflects the thriving health tourism industry in the Adelaide Hills, in line with the booming sector nationally.
