COLUMBIA, S.C. (WSPA) – A Union County woman convicted of drowning her children 30 years ago will appear before the parole board next month.

The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardons announced Monday that Susan Smith will appear for a parole hearing on Wednesday, November 20th.

Smith was sentenced to life in prison for killing her children in October 1994. As part of her sentence, she was automatically eligible for parole this year.

She is currently being held at Leath Correctional Facility in Greenwood.

According to the Department of Corrections, Smith agreed to provide the director with contact information for friends, family and victims, including her ex-husband.
