The man who was seriously injured last week after an attack in Wangamarino and later died has been identified as 43-year-old Darshak Narran.

The South Auckland man was found in a serious condition on the side of Hampton Downs Road in Wangamarino in the early hours of October 14.

He later died after being taken to an Auckland hospital in critical condition.

Two men have been charged with Darshak’s murder.

The 42-year-old man was arrested in Auckland on Friday and appeared in the Manukau District Court on Saturday charged with murder, police said.

A 32-year-old man was also previously charged with murder.

Detective Senior Sergeant Christine Clark said police arrested the man in the south Auckland suburb of Papakura on Thursday evening.

He appeared in the Manukau District Court on Friday.

Both will appear in court on November 5 in the High Court in Hamilton.

Police have urged anyone who drove along Hampton Downs Roads between 10pm on October 13 and 1am on October 14 to come forward, especially if they have dashcam footage.
