Murphy set to star in Adelaide 500

GREG Murphy will become the third supercar legend to take on the role of “fanbassador” for the VAILO Adelaide 500.

Following Scott McLaughlin in 2022 and Craig Lowndes last year, Murphy will connect with fans in a variety of ways, including special appearances, Q&A sessions and special content/analysis on social media.

Murphy’s record at Adelaide included a second place to Lowndes in the inaugural event in 1999, plus two pole positions and a further two second places in races.

“I look forward to being part of the 25th anniversary celebration of this iconic and beloved event,” he said.

“I was lucky enough to compete in my first competition in 1999 and it remains one of my most memorable podium experiences thanks to the amazing atmosphere created by the incredibly enthusiastic fans.

“The current Repco Supercars Championship in 2024 has been an exciting occasion and with him firmly at the top of the driver standings, the defining moment is likely to be on the streets of Adelaide.

“Supercar fans are so passionate that I look forward to joining them in the fun that comes along the way and beyond.”

Adelaide (November 14-17) will be keeping an eye on this weekend’s Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.
