Ceneco reduced tariffs by 62 centavos per kWh

The Negros Central Electric Cooperative announced a reduction in October electricity rates by 62 centavos per kilowatt-hour.

CENECO said the electricity tariff for October is P11.0674/kWh, down P0.6210/kWh from September’s P11.6884/kWh.

CENECO attributed the decline to lower generation charges due to a significant drop in prices in the wholesale electricity spot market.

It also said that the reduction in VAT rates also led to a reduction in electricity tariffs this month.

Pass-through charges equivalent to P9.8808/kWh of the total electricity tariff include generation and transmission charges, ERC-approved adjustments, government subsidies and taxes, CENECO said.

Only P1.1866/kWh of the electricity tariff goes to CENECO through Distribution, Supply, Metering (DSM) fees and the Reinvestment Fund for Sustainable Capital Costs (RFSC) for its administrative and operational services, he added.

Meanwhile, Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative also earlier announced a P1.63 per kilowatt hour reduction in October electricity rates.

NOCECO reported its electricity rates for the month at P12.9131/kWh, down P1.6334 from P14.5465/kWh last month.

The Negros Norte Electric Cooperative has not yet released its monthly electricity tariff data.*
