Former Fijian dies in Manukau Harbor incident – ​​FBC News

Former Fijian national Bimal Parma Sami died yesterday after his boat capsized in Auckland, New Zealand’s Manukau Harbour.

Mangere East resident Sami, 52, died in the incident at around 9am yesterday.

The father of four is described as a helpful man.

Samy, who left Fiji for New Zealand more than 20 years ago, has three daughters and one son, all in their 20s.

Manukau Police say six other people involved in the incident were pulled from the water and treated by emergency personnel.

Waiuku Coastguard says several nearby boats responded without hesitation, helping to pull seven people from the water.

Volunteers from Waiuku Coastguard met the relief boats at Little Huia to provide first aid and check on the welfare of those rescued.
