MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – The Meridian Public School District Board of Trustees met Monday to discuss improvements in test scores.

They move into the benchmark this year, seeing big gains over last year in subjects such as ELA, math, science and history, as well as double-digit growth in math and proficiency in those subjects.

Stephen Shadwick, director of gifted assessment and education, explains what he expects from students on assessment tests this year.

“We expect them to get things done. We know that the systems we use include the small group teaching in our classroom, the support they receive throughout the curriculum to ensure students get everything they need and all the support we can give them provide to ensure they are successful in their studies. their standards will move forward,” says Shadwick.

The entire Meridian Public School District supports student assessment preparation.
