Merryland stabbing: Group of five allegedly attacked man in Sydney car park

A group of five carried out a vicious attack, allegedly stabbing a man as he sat in a car in Sydney’s south-west on Tuesday morning.

Police have launched an investigation after a group reportedly attacked and stabbed a man in a Merrylands car park.

Emergency services were called to the car park in Burnett Street, Merrylands, at around 1.50am following reports of an attack.

Cumberland Police Department officers arrived and reported that a 23-year-old man was sitting in his car when three to five people approached him and stabbed him.

The group left the scene and he called for help.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for injuries to his arm, shoulder, chest and hip before being taken to Westmead Hospital. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

A crime scene has been established and police are currently investigating the incident.
