Nanaimo shooting sends one person to hospital

One man remains in hospital and a suspect is at large following a shooting in Nanaimo Saturday night, authorities say.

Officers were called to a home on Corunna Avenue in downtown Nanaimo around 6 p.m., where the victim was found with “apparent gunshot wounds,” a Nanaimo RCMP spokesperson told CTV News, adding the man was in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene and was not located, but police say the shooting was targeted and there is no danger to the public.
