Cards’ Emari Demercado runs 53 yards before the half in TD vs. Bears

GLENDALE, Ariz. — With 12 seconds left in the first half, and with the Arizona Cardinals facing third-and-5 from their own 47, running back Emari Demercado took a pass from quarterback Kyler Murray and scooted to his right.

He found a hole and burst past the Chicago Bears’ trio and the speedy Josh Blackwell.

From there, Demercado blew another hole in the Bears 48, got out of the 40 and was out of the race.

His touchdown gave Arizona a 21-6 lead at halftime and was the longest touchdown in the final 30 seconds of the first half this season. It was also the Cardinals’ longest rushing touchdown since Kenyan Drake’s 69-yard run in Week 6 of 2020.
