‘Professor’ Jida Josiah Jisos faces six months in prison for impersonating someone else during the 2019 UTME

to six months in prison for impersonating another person.

The impersonation occurred during the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

JAMB reported that Jisos was detained by its officials while observing the 2019 UTME at Brix Academy, Abuja.

In a statement, JAMB Spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin said Jisos introduced himself to representatives of the non-governmental organization (NGO), claiming that he was there to observe the examination.

He said: “However, his deception was exposed when he was questioned by the supervisory team leader in the examination hall, who asked him to clarify its purpose.

“Unable to substantiate his claims, Jisos was arrested and handed over to security officials for further investigation. During interrogation, he admitted that he is not associated with any non-governmental organization and was actually in the examination hall to help his daughter pass the 2019 UTME.

“The Chief Magistrate, Honorable Justice Folashade Oyekan found Jizos guilty of one count of criminal impersonation and sentenced him to six months imprisonment with an option of a fine of N100,000.”
