‘I never stabbed him,’ new appointee Sunday Dare says of President Tinubu

  • New presidential appointee Sunday Dare has said he did not take a swipe at President Bola Tinubu by agreeing to work with ex-leader Muhammadu Buhari.

FCT, Abuja – Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Public Relations and Orientation to President Bola Tinubu, said he has always been “blessed” by his mentor, the current Nigerian leader.

Speaking in an interview on Thursday, October 31, at TV channelsSpeaking on Politics Today, Dare said his current role under Tinubu’s presidency is a “national duty”. I followed the interview legit.ng.

The former Minister of Youth and Sports maintained that in his many years of relationship with Tinubu, he never betrayed the former Lagos State governor.

Legit.ng reports that President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Dare in August 2016 as the Executive Commissioner and Head of Stakeholders at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). He also served as Tinubu’s Chief of Staff (CoS) when the latter was governor.

Dare said:

“Every meeting I took, I got his approval. Before I went to NCC, I received his blessing. I never stabbed him. This was a call to national duty, and it did not happen without his knowledge and support. It was a national duty and I had his blessing.”

“Tinubu deserves praise”

Dare, meanwhile, called for patience with the reforms of President Tinubu’s administration, saying the Nigerian leader should be commended for his policies.

He stressed that the removal of subsidies is necessary to prevent some rich people from profiting at the expense of the country.
