Justin Lyles: Dry Saturday followed by wet Sunday

High pressure moved in today, bringing us some sunshine and drier weather. A slight drop in temperatures will bring more moisture to South Dakota. Scattered light rainfall will move across the region this evening into Saturday. It should mostly be rain, but there may be a chance of snowflakes or a wintry mix overnight, but any accumulations of rain or snow should be minimal. Temperatures will be slightly above normal over the weekend.

The next weather system will bring heavy precipitation Sunday through Monday, with more rain likely, with a 60 to 90 percent chance of a half-inch of rain or more. High pressure then moves in, drying out the region over the next week.
