Where is Paul Mescal coming to Australia?

In the cast you missed, international heartthrob Paul Mescal was in Sydney celebrating the premiere of his latest film. Gladiator II. Such is our appetite for Paul that more than 2,000 people attended the screening in Sydney’s Darling Harbour, with fans lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the stars.

ELLE Australia managed to speak with Mescal while he was in town, so we asked him what he thought of Australia. “Oh my God, I love it here. Last night, the number of people who came out to greet the film at its first premiere was truly special,” he shared. And if you’re wondering where his first stop will be when he lands in Sydney, the answer is: the beach, of course.

“We arrived yesterday and went swimming,” says Mescal. Gladiator II Co-star Fred Hechinger has been revealed. “Any day in salt water is something special,” Hechinger continued, Paul nodding with an occasional word of encouragement. “This is great. We are truly grateful. Yesterday I felt such kindness. It’s really special to be in Australia,” added Hechinger.

Opening of the premiere performance of the play Gladiator II At the Darling Harbor Theatre, Paul expressed his surprise at the turnout. In fact, he started his speech by saying, “I just want to say that this is absolutely f–king crazy.” The star walked the red carpet in a brown Gucci suit, stopping for interviews along the way.

This isn’t the first time Mescal has spent some time Down Under. The Irish actor spent 2022 filming. Enemy with Saoirse Ronan in regional Victoria and South Australia, and in 2021 he filmed Carmen in Sydney, Broken Hill and Goulburn.

Located in Sydney’s central business district, Shell House is a three-level bar and dining venue. There haven’t been many reported sightings of Mescal, but one person shared a photo of Paul on Instagram. Popular with after-work visitors, the Shell House’s Sky Bar offers $15 margaritas from 4 to 6 p.m.

Darling Harbor Theater

Of course this was the place where Gladiator II premiere. Paul arrived in a black SUV and then walked the red carpet and did interviews along the way. The 2,500-seat theater is part of the renovated ICC site.

Why is Paul Mescal in Australia?

In October-November 2024, Mescal will visit Sydney, Australia to promote his Ridley Scott blockbuster. Gladiator II. The film premiered on October 30 when Mescal attended an event in Darling Harbor in Sydney.

Gladiator 2 will be released in theaters on November 14th. Tickets are already on sale.
