Man killed on Atomic Drive in Cumberland Co.; Deputies charge Fayetteville man with murder

Authorities were searching Thursday night for a man they say killed someone earlier that day in Cumberland County.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 1300 block of Atomic Drive in Spring Lake.

When they arrived, scientist Damonte Larsen, 22, of Spring Lake, was shot and taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Trezin Alexander Green, 21, of Fayetteville, is charged with first-degree murder in Larsen’s death, deputies said.

The sheriff’s office said it will release more information as it becomes available.
