How much does a World Series ticket cost?

How much does a World Series ticket cost?

The Los Angeles Dodgers take on the New York Yankees tonight with a three-game lead to nil, meaning this could be your last chance to see how the East Coast-West Coast rivalry plays out.

If the Dodgers win, the World Series will be over.

On StubHub, the cheapest ticket for tonight’s game will set you back $413, while the most expensive is over $2,100. TickPick prices range from $558 to over $10,000. On SeatGeek, tickets start at $536 and go up to over $6,400.

But prices on resale sites have been declining over the past week. On TickPick, the cheapest Game 4 ticket is $1,000 less than it was at the start of the Series.

Before the World Series, SeatGeek’s average resale price for Game 4 was more than $2,400, according to a company spokesperson.

After the second game, prices for the fourth game dropped 41% to over $1,400. And after yesterday’s faceoff, the average ticket price for Game 4 dropped another 10%, falling below $1,300, or about half the original amount.

“However, the fourth game (and the entire series) continues to be one of the most in-demand World Series games we’ve seen on SeatGeek,” a Marketplace spokesperson said in an email.

As we’ve reported, watching live sports in general is becoming more expensive. Attendance at sporting events grew 10.3% last year. Some of the many reasons for the increase? Arenas are limited in capacity due to high demand, seats are getting better and gambling fans want to bet now and avoid TV delays, which further increases demand.
