The Pike County Lady Bulldogs, Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots and Goshen Lady Eagles traveled to Luverne this weekend to take part in the Lady Tigers shootout before Thanksgiving.

Pike County won the tournament 2-1 with a one-point loss to Calhoun and victories over Pike Lieb and Goshen. After losing to Calhoun 30-29 on the first day of the tournament, Pike County responded to open day two with a 54-30 win over Pike Lieb.

Paityn Flowers and Kintis Jackson led PCHS with 10 points each, Tamja Taylor scored nine points and Zohi Lucy added seven. For Pike Lib, S. Stevens scored 11 points and Mary Holland Stevens scored 10 points.

Pike County closed out the tournament with a thrilling 36-34 win over Goshen. In the final seconds, Pike County’s Lucy scored on a fast break goal to secure the win for the Lady Dogs.

Lucy scored 14 points for Pike County and Taylor added 10 points. For Goshen, Alyssa Sparks scored 16 points, while Ja’Nia Martin and Taroji Taylor each scored eight points.

In other tournament action, Goshen lost to Georgiana 49-34 and Pike Lieb lost to Carroll-Ozark 61-18.

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans also traveled to Pelham to compete in the Turkey Tip-Off Classic. In the first round, Charles Henderson lost to Cullman 62–41. Reagan Worley led CHHS with an 18-point loss.
