The news came just hours before Kidman was set to accept the Best Actress award for her role in Baby at the Venice Film Festival. Previously, during an interview with GQ, she described the heartbreaking loss as “waking up at 3 a.m. crying and choking.”

“Mortality. Connection. Life comes and hits you, and the loss of parents, and raising children, and marriage, and all the things that make you a completely reasonable person. I’m in all these places,” she said.

Nicole Kidman faced “burnout” in the USA

A source close to the actress said she worked tirelessly, even while grieving over the death of her mother, immersing herself in her career. “She’s been through a lot and seems to be coping with her grief by throwing herself into her work,” the source shared. Her busy schedule is causing concern among friends and family, as the actress is reportedly battling “burnout” while juggling intense press tours and filming.

“There are times when she sleeps more on the plane than on the bed. Everyone is worried about her,” the source added.

Back in 2018, when the Australian beauty was asked about her plans to return to Australia, she explained that she and her Australian husband Keith Urban didn’t see themselves moving permanently. “We’re Nashvillians,” she told US Weekly. “My husband, his career is there. We are happy there now.” The couple reportedly owns a 20-room mansion in Nashville worth $4.89 million, a house in Beverly Hills and a designer duplex in Chelsea, New York. In addition, they also own a farmhouse in Australia and two penthouses in Sydney.
